- The seat-only lift and LeveLift technology curves the seat to a flat surface throughout the lift keeping the user on a level plane, up and down. Users are raised, but not ‘dumped out’ of their chairs.
- Seat-only lift provides more design flexibility making them easy to adapt to the needs and lifestyle of the user with:
- Portable and stationary versions
- Electric or manual models
- Lift assistance as needed, up to 100% of body weight (up to 300 lbs)
- Compact designs for use in small locations
- A discreet option
- While not replacements for lift chairs, Lifting Seats are more affordable for those on a budget or who need an extra lifting product for other locations.
- Generally, Lifting Seats are not an appropriate substitution for someone who needs a lift chair (i.e. will sit for extended periods of time, needs a chair to nap in, etc.)

| Why doesn't my Uplift Seat Assist go down when I sit on it?There are no translations available.
The Seat Assist uses a hydro-pneumatic gas spring that dampens the sitting motion and captures the energy created as you move to the seated position. Below are the common methods to activate your Seat Assist gas piston.
- You may need to sit further back on your lifting seat. Sit on the flat part at the back of the cushion, and straighten yourself into a sitting position. If you perch on the front, slanted part of the cushion your weight will not be distributed properly for the seat to go down.
- When new or if unused for some time, the gas spring may become stiff and you may need to “prime” it to get it moving. To do this, set the gas spring into the lowest weight setting and sit on your Seat Assist several times until it moves freely.
The weight setting may be too high for your weight. The weight settings are guidelines and you may simply need to set the weight one notch lower or higher than your weight range to get it right.
| How is the Risedale Lifting Seat Chair different from a traditional lift chair? There are no translations available.
The Risedale is a seat-only lifting chair with three benefits:
- Only the seat moves, and with LeveLift technology curving the seat to a flat surface, the Risedale does not ‘dump’ the user out.
- Seat-only lift means the Risedale can fit in small spaces, against walls or in corners.
- Since only the seat moves, more chair styles are possible that include a Lifting Seat – more design options that don’t look medical and fit into most decors.
